How To Broadcast a Standard Size Commercial On Your LED Screens Network
These days I am receiving a lot of questions via the yellow note on the right menu. Since this blog is meant to help YOU to run you LED screen advertising business at the best of its potential (and I want to make it a more and more valuable resource for everybody in the LED screen digital advertising) I always pay particular attention to all the relevant questions received.
This is one of the latest enquiries I got: "If you have 3 LED screens of different sizes and you connect them all together and you have a commercial of a standard size, what picture is going to be on LED screens that are different sizes? Will there become black stripes on those LED screens that are too big? Or will it shrink on those LED boards that are too small? Should we then buy the same sizes or in same ratio?"
Great question because it denotes a particular attention to the usability (that in my opinion is at least as important as the LED screen features as brightness, image quality etc.).
Before answering, let me explain one thing: all our LED screens are provided with proprietary scheduling software (called EDX) that you can use to create the playlist of all the commercials. We developed it based on the continuous feedback from our Customers and we believe it is a very valuable tool.
IMPORTANT: you are not obliged to use our EDX software to schedule your ads. You can use any software available on the market if you have any other preference (ie. Scala).
Now let's get back to the question. If you have 1 standard resolution commercial and 3 LED screens of different sizes, what do you see on the screens? The answer is easy: you see exactly your ad, without any cutting/slicing.
Indeed our EDX software has a specific function that allows you to adapt any commercial to the resolution of the LED screen. So if you have 3 LED screens of 288x192 pixels - 384x288 pixels - 480x384 pixels, you DO NOT NEED to create the same commercial in 3 different resolutions. You will simply create ONE standard ad that will be resized and adapted to each LED screen in your network (the EDX software actually even allow you to decide whether to keep, adapt or crop the commercial for each LED screen, but for a demonstration of the advanced functions you'd better come and visit us!).
Therefore, to answer the question: there will be NO black stripes on the side of your commercial, because you can automatically adapt it to each single LED screen with one single click - even on screens with different sizes and resolutions.
Of course - in case you run a network - having LED screens of a similar aspect ratio (ie. 4:3) will avoid minor image distortions that may occur when you adapt a commercial to screens with complete different proportions.
