Chinese LED Screen Manufacturer Vs. Customer: Round #1

It seems that a large number of readers are interested in the Chinese LED Screens debate going on the blog these days. So today I'd like to publish the contrasting opinions sent by two of you.
From Tom (no email address available)
It's possible to find reliable LED manufacturer in china! They force all other to low the price and it's good!
Reliable china companies buy LEDs from same manufacturers like others with trusted brands so don't believe in "BAD" china companies - they are like all others in the world - you can find reliable and not.
From Juan Carlos (email address available)
We have two Korean LEDs screens from [brand name], the been a problem since we give money to the sales man, the screens arrived weeks late, the technicians did not know how to setup them and burned the power supplies and boards, scratched the screens while carrying them.
After some months the sales man brought two technicians from Korea, they fixed the screens and finally the screens worked. Two months later the Korean LEDs screen computer failed, we replace it with a new one. Two moths later the screens failed again and the sales man and his technicians did not know a thing about how to fix them.
My advice is: "Make a legal support contract before you buy any system, ask for training and 24 hour support.
So to me both opinions are very interesting. They both prove a point: 1) Asian manufactures force everybody to lower the price, which is good and 2) that lower price might also mean lower quality so be careful and legally protect yourself.
To me, Tom seems to be a Chinese LED screen manufacturer defending the category. Which is ok, but of course can't be totally unbiased.
I just have to clarify one thing for less experienced readers: any LED Screen manufacturer can use those "trusted LEDs brands" Tom is referring to (ie. Nichia, Cree/Cotco). But by using those LEDs the costs go up and the price advantage decrease. Therefore maybe one thing that you could ask to your LED screen manufacturer is what type of LED chip they use.
Ok, that's enough on my side. I want to know what do YOU think! Who's right? Tom or Juan Carlos or... both? If you have any direct experience or simply want to share your ideas, please leave a comment by clicking here.

We are from Asia, in the end whether you buy a Chinese screen or not depends on your risk apetite. Most Chinese manufacturer's do not necessary have their own technology they merely re-engineer others and copy them. Without the depth of understanding, the result is what may happen eg. in the case of Juan with the Korean product even if the LED used is of "quality" brands. They still do not necessarily understand the technology. At installation, anything can happen even with good quality screens. When that happens, the original maker( usually non-Chinese )provides the assurance and comfort becuse they designed and build. So, which do you prefer the choice is yours.
The main reason for LED screens not fulfilling the expectations of the customers is long term performance. Most "cheap" LED screens have poor thermal management which leads to parts of the screen aging faster than others, causing bad uniformity. It is easy to make an LED screen. It is not easy to make a good LED screen. Matt E.
